3 days of awesome fun, frolic and intense learning. Wonderful engagement & participation.
In continuation, here’s another story for you to think about.
A professor stands before a philosophy class and picks up an empty jar. He then proceeds to fill the jar with golf balls and asks the students if the jar is full. They agree it is.
The professor now starts to put pebbles into the jar. He shakes the jar until the pebbles roll into the empty spaces between the big rocks. Once again he asks the students if the jar is full. They agree it is.
The professor next empties a box of sand into the jar and the students can see the sand seep into vacant areas between the big rocks and pebbles. Yet again he asks the students if the jar is full, and yet again they agree that it is.
The professor picks up two cans of beer and proceeds to empty both cans into the jar.
Then the professor says, “I want you to recognise that this jar represents your life. The big rocks are the important things – your family, your health, your friends, etc. If everything was lost and only they remained your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter – like your job, your car, your house, etc. The sand is everything else, the small and unimportant stuff. If you put the sand into the jar first, there’s no room for the pebbles or big rocks. So choose wisely. But remember, no matter how full your life might seem or how busy, there’s always room for a couple of beers with good friends.”
Work hard, party harder. Welcome to corporate life.
